Our thinking and practice with regards to the environment has progressed from a rough-and-tumble, lawless “Frontier Economic” worldview to the present, where a command and control regime of laws and regulations forces us into a set of practices and beliefs commonly called “Environmental Protection.”
The leading edge of this phenomenon is guiding us toward a new set of understandings, tools and techniques that would engender a more ecological form of development, or “Eco-Development,” that promises to address social, economic and environmental aspects of problems simultaneously so as to generate “triple bottom line results.”
